An Established Phoenix-Area Clinic Running Both Channels — But Not Getting Full Value From Either

Goodyear is part of the greater Phoenix metro — a highly competitive market for dermatology and skin care search. The location was established with a patient base, but the digital acquisition strategy needed to be rebuilt around both channels working in coordination rather than in isolation.

In 2024, paid ads ran for about half the year before being paused. Organic SEO was producing solid volume but hadn’t reached its potential. Neither channel was being managed to its ceiling.

In 2025, PowerUp Media rebuilt both. The results speak for themselves.

What We Built

Paid Ads Rebuilt for Efficiency. SEO Rebuilt for Dominance.

The goal was not simply to generate more patient appointments. The goal was to focus on high quality patients and to generate them at the lowest possible blended cost while building a compounding organic asset that would reduce paid dependence over time.

Google Ads
(Rebuilt for Efficiency)

Paid campaigns were restructured from the ground up; tighter geographic targeting, refined keyword strategy, improved landing page alignment, and aggressive bid management focused on cost per conversion rather than impression share. The result was a paid cost per new patient of $41.07 against a network average of $347.68. Same market. Fraction of the cost.

Organic SEO
(Built to Take Over)

Local SEO infrastructure for Goodyear was comprehensively built; optimized location page, Google Business Profile management, condition and treatment content targeting Phoenix-area search behavior, citation building, and schema markup. The organic strategy was designed specifically to grow SEO's share of total appointments month over month — and by July it had reached 60%.

The stacked chart tells the full story. In January through March, paid ads carried the heavier load while organic built momentum. By June and July, organic had taken over as the dominant channel. By year end, the two channels had delivered consistent combined volume every single month — complementing each other rather than competing.

Paid Ads

$41.07 Per New Patient. The Network Average Was $347.68.

Across the SCI network, dermatology Google Ads campaigns averaged $347.68 per new patient appointment in 2025. Goodyear came in at $41.07 — 88% below the network benchmark — on a total paid spend of $23,043.

That means Goodyear was acquiring paid patients at roughly one-eighth of what comparable campaigns were costing elsewhere in the same network. Same vertical. Same platform. Dramatically different result.

Organic SEO Performance

Organic SEO Went From 28.7% to 60% of All Appointments in Six Months

The SEO story at Goodyear is not about raw numbers — it’s about share. At the start of 2025, organic search was driving 28.7% of all new patient appointments at the location. By July, that share had reached 60%. SEO had become the dominant patient acquisition channel at this clinic — ahead of paid ads, ahead of every other source.

That shift happened while the clinic was still running paid ads. It wasn’t a trade-off. It was SEO growing faster than the clinic’s total appointment volume, taking an increasing slice of the pie month after month.
